Evaluation form comments by  Omaha Central High School
students at the end of their unit on "Macbeth":

"Last year at my previous high school I read Macbeth in my
English class and did not understand it-the language and scenes
confused me.  This year reading it with acting, explanations and
other information really helped!  I enjoyed this so much more
and it really helped my understanding."

"Mrs. Driscoll was a fantastic instructor and helped me understand the material.  Her
passion for Shakespeare showed me that it wasn't so bad after all and helped me enjoy
my learning experience.  The way she related the story to real life/modern day showed
me a different side of Macbeth that I wouldn't have discovered otherwise."

"She was awesome!"

"Mrs. Delaney (sic) was an excellent teacher.  She helped out a lot by explaining and
demonstrating what was going on."
Presents:
"Stand up and Shout SHAKESPEARE with Delaney Driscoll"

Suitable for grades Kindergarten-12

* Theatre  History  *  Shakespearean Verse *  Language Arts * Iambic Pentameter *
* Theatre Arts * Voice Work * Stage Combat * Movement * Improvisation *

Presented in conjunction with the classroom curriculum, (using costumes, cauldrons, etc.) these interactive classes
give students a chance to explore the beauty of the language and the depth of Shakespeare's characters by
reciting the text out loud.
We don't assign calculus without prior math training.
By the same token, we should not expect students to
fully comprehend language arts without a foundation
in Shakespeare.

Delaney is a teaching artist who leads Shakespeare
residencies for
The Artists in Schools/Communities
(AiSC) program, sponsored by The Nebraska Arts Council.

The Globe Theatre Omaha is currently scheduling
